5 Powerful Techniques to Change Your Mindset

Ready to figure out how to change your mindset and know what sets the super-successful apart from the wannabes?
It’s not endless amounts of money, brilliant ideas, or even influential friends.
All of those are nice to have, but they’re not a requirement of success.
What is a must-have, though, is a good attitude.
Without the proper mindset, you’ll constantly be battling your own brain, and frankly, that’s exhausting.
If you do let yourself fall into a cycle of self-doubt, in no time at all, you’ll be stuck at your day job, working away on someone else’s business because you don’t have the confidence to create your own.
But a simple mindset change can make all the difference.
How to Change Your Mindset Easily

1. Mindset Tip: Attitude is Everything
You don’t need an advanced education or years of experience.
You don’t need thousands of subscribers or pageviews.
You don’t need anyone else’s approval.
But if you start to think that you can’t follow your dreams until you have X number of years of experience, or the same amount of traffic as Betty Blogger, or for your sister (or whoever) to give you the thumbs up on your plan, you won’t ever begin.
And the minute you start looking around and comparing yourself to others, bad things are going to happen!
- You’ll allow yourself to believe your ideas are no good
- You’ll remain convinced that you aren’t smart enough
- You’ll be certain that someone else did it (whatever “it” is) better
Before you know it, you’ll have talked yourself right out of launching your new program, starting your blog, or writing your book.
You’ll put your dream on a shelf where it will sit and get dusty.
To be successful, you must avoid the comparison trap and focus on the capabilities that you DO have.
No one else can introduce YOUR ideas into the world!
When we are called to create something, it is for a reason.
You never know who you will be helping along the way.
If the comparison trap is a challenge for you, focus on shifting your mindset to one of confidence.

Mindset Affirmations
Try incorporating one or more of these affirmations into your morning routine to reframe your beliefs and bring confidence into your life:
I am enough. Just as I am, I am enough.
I am confident, capable, and my core message is compelling.
I will pursue with passion the projects on my plate.
I already have everything I need to achieve my goals.

2. Mindset Tip: Dress for Success

If you’re looking for a super quick and easy way to instantly shift your mindset in the right direction, ditch the yoga pants and break out the lipstick.
You’ll suddenly find you feel more professional, more confident, and maybe even sexier, too. (That last one won’t help your business, but it might just help your love life, and that can’t hurt, can it?)
3. Mindset Tip: Never Let Fear Drive Your Decisions
Too many would-be entrepreneurs operate with a scarcity mindset rather than approaching their business from a place of abundance.
- Rather than telling yourself that you can’t afford to hire a virtual assistant or work with a coach, try reframing your thoughts.
- Rather than thinking, “I can’t afford to attend that event,” ask yourself, “How can I earn the money to invest in this trip?”
- Rather than saying, “I have to do everything myself because I can’t afford to hire a VA,” remind yourself that your hourly rate potential is much more than you’d pay a virtual assistant. Then fill those hours you’re saving by outsourcing with money-making tasks of your own. By reformatting your thoughts, you’ll turn that negative money talk into positive solutions that help you grow.

4. Mindset Tip: Focus on Your Foundation
Obviously, you need to have long-term goals to be successful, and that’s where you’ve just got to step up your game and get to work.
You have to commit to your goals and determine the action steps you will take towards their achievement.
If you don’t have long-term goals, you have to create them.
For a healthy balance, you need to ensure that you set goals for all of the areas of your life that you want to focus on. These areas might include business, career, financial, health and fitness, relationships, or any combination of the roles in your life.
It’s up to you to determine what the most important thing to you in your life and set them as long-term goals.
These give you a general sense of direction for whatever areas of life are important to you, but you still need to break them down further into actionable tasks.
Let’s say for example right now, you’re currently earning $80,000 a year, and you want to double that. Your long-term goal might be to earn $160,000 a year.
You may have no clue how to do that right now, but that’s your long-term goal, and it gives you something to dwell on and think about and plan on and scheme for every single day.
5. Mindset Tip: Gaining Guidance from Your Goals

If you don’t set a long-term goal, how the heck do you know what to do today?
Where should you focus?
What action should you take?
Your long-term goals should be far beyond your current capacity, and they should really be about achieving your full potential.
What are you capable of if you really push yourself?
When setting your goals, don’t settle for something mediocre.
Set goals that you are passionate about and that excite you.
Those goals will be what motivates you to keep going when you start questioning your path.
Ask yourself:
What am I capable of?
What can I do that’s far beyond my current capacities?
What excites me?
So what is your goal?
If it’s a certain annual income, write it. If it’s a certain body weight or type of body composition, write that down. Write down that long-term goal, that stretch goal that will push you far beyond your current capacity.
Next, write down why you must achieve it. Need help? Check out this post on finding your WHY.
Think about all the reasons, and not just because you want to buy more pretty things if it’s money. What else would it mean to you if you achieved it?
What will have you proven to yourself when you’ve taken your income from $80,000 to $160,000? And if you do meet your goal for health and physical fitness?
Now claim it.
Write down your goal, write down what actions will bring you closer to that goal, and write down what it would mean to you to succeed.

Well said/written and these are all great reminders. We all have assets that we may not be using well in different situations
I especially love the first two points.
