How to Reinvent Yourself when Life Gets in the Way ( 7 Steps)
What are you willing to do to reinvent yourself and get where you want to be?
We all want something.
It may not be the same thing ie Love, Money, Time, Career, etc but something.
Either way, it doesn’t change that you are striving to get somewhere and do something.
As a mom, it is a struggle to always find ways to evolve myself, grow myself, and reinvent myself when I’m life gets in the way. Click To TweetWhat Does It Mean to Reinvent Yourself?

To Reinvent Yourself is to
- create a new way of thinking
- change the way that you behave
- recreate your life, so you have maximized potential growth
Do you Need to Reinvent Yourself?
You may not need to create an entirely new you, but you may want to change the way you go after your ideal life.
There are always times when we should reinvent ourselves, especially with significant changes that push us to new outcomes. For example,
- leaving a job
- ending a relationship
- moving to a different home
- having a child
- death of a loved one
These are major life changes that can impact who you are, so finding a new way of thinking will prevent you from getting lost and failing to reach your potential.
Pay Attention to the Journey
I have the same problem that seems to arise in cycles.
One year I’ll have a great year, everything is going great, and my needs are met.
The next year seems like a disaster. I feel like I need to make changes, but I don’t know where to start.
Then there’s life.
A life that consists of many things getting in the way of goals and reaching your full potential.
You have kids, a full-time job, have to manage juggling your home and then you need to fit in other personal growth and physical things.
So if you know you want to, for example, get out of debt and create new habits with money so you can have financial freedom.
Then, what sacrifices are you willing to make to get there?
You have the vision of being debt-free may be working part-time and spending more time with your family.
This is your why, but what is your how.
The next step is to do something to impact your life in a big way.
And hold yourself accountable so you can make that change… in this case reduce debt.
I’m not perfect, and I’m on a journey just like you. Maybe not the same route, but a growth journey.
In the effort to make life easier, I have put together things I am trying so I can also help you grow quickly and reinvent yourself.
Do you know how many times my career has been close to rock bottom? Each time, I was like, 'Girl, figure it out. Reinvent yourself. – Adrienne Bailon #goals #anewyou #personalgrowth #dreambig #reinventyourself #makethemostoflife Click To Tweet1. Learn How To Make Confident Decisions

Confidence is not something you’re born with; its something learned. Some people have more confidence and belief in themselves than others. Because our past installs allot of the thought processes and learned behaviors.
“The formation of our self-esteem throughout childhood is influenced primarily by three factors. Physical appearance, our behavior and our academic performance. The way in which our parents handle these three dimensions can encourage us to grow in security and confidence. If they don’t show this, it can cause helplessness, loneliness, and fear”.– cited from The Influence of the Family on Our Self-Esteem
So if you don’t have a supportive family dynamic or you developed a fixed mindset, then it will be common to second guess yourself, no trust your intuition and don’t believe you have what it takes to change.
Its a place that I am familiar with, and had to take baby steps to grow my confidence and believe in myself.
Just like I did, I want you to change that.
I want you to work on being confident and feeling powerful, in yourself and in the universe.
2. Identify What Important To You

It wasn’t until I wrote a post on personal core values that I realized my values have a lot to do with my goals in life.
Do you have time to sit down and discover your personal core values?
You say I’m a busy mom I have too many things going on in my life, so that will have to wait.
Yes, it could wait, but do you know time won’t wait for anyone.
Meanwhile, you look up, and you’re stuck in the same position.
So what can you do to actually make small steps to reinvent yourself?
You can put it on a calendar and just get it done. Tell yourself you have 20 mins and do it!
3. Identify Your Goals and Why

Yes, anyone can make a goal.
I want to make a million dollars in 2 weeks.
But is your goal realistic? Come on. Can you really make a million in 2 weeks? If so, please share it with the rest of us!
Next, is to figure out if your goal aligns with your values. See if they match up. There is no need to try to achieve a goal that doesn’t really represent who you are.
You are looking for personal growth and reinvent yourself on your own terms, not setting goals society tell you that you should.
I remember a friend of mine who told me she went to college because her family said she should because it should be a job that is secure and safe. After all, her actual drive was entrepreneurship, which wasn’t stable or reliable at all.
When she started her job, she was not happy or motivated to go into work every day.
The problem was those values were put on her by her family, but they were not hers.
She valued adventure, growth, and making an impact.
So she finally decided to quit her job and start a youth foundation to empower kids.
Now she is happy and the positivity keeps her vibration up, which allows other positive things to enter her life.
Moral of the story, set goals that are important to you and identify why you have them in the first place so you can reinvent yourself by being authentic.
4. Find Ways To Keep You Focus

So I don’t really have an accountability partner because there are not many moms I know that want to start a successful business. I am sure that many others there, but I just don’t have any.
Besides, I don’t know anyone that I have kids, a fulltime job, husband and want to dream big. They fall into the category of friends with kids or driven friends without that don’t understand my day to day struggle.
You know how hard the day-to-day struggle with a family is, and how hard it is on your self-care.
Things that keep me focus
- Personal Development Podcast like MindValley and Business Boutique
- Good books- here is my recommended list
- Virtual Friends- Facebook Groups, and Slack
- Journaling/Planner. I have both because I have a scatterbrain, so the planner keeps me structured, but the bullet journal allows creativity. I have the Rose Gold Clever Fox Journal

5. Refine Your Schedule and Managing your Time

Everything you do boils down to having time.
It’s the only thing we can’t buy more of, save for later, or pause it. So having a good system in place will allow you to maximize the time you have.
Being efficient is big for me because with 3 kids and a full-time job, time is limited. As much as I despise a strict schedule, I realize it’s the only thing that is going allow me to catapult my business.
As people, we want a balanced life…. to have fun with your kids, work less but get paid more lifestyle, right?
But honestly, balance is designed and had a lot to do with your current mindset.
You have to be honest with yourself and understand that you can’t be everywhere all the time. Or help everyone everywhere. Don’t beat yourself up, but do check out how to get massive stuff done as a working mom.
When time keeps going, how do you manage to tend to important tasks?
Where Does the Time Go
You know how fast time flies…. The moment you look up and your 5 years older.
Or how fast the year comes and goes. It’s like you begin with the year s
So, I can’t answer how to make time stop flying by, but I can tell you that if you don’t manage your time, well then you will wonder what you did in the past several months. And worst, what have you done in the past few years.
Tips to Get in Control of Your Time:
Create a system to help you get more done!
- Use a block schedule to manage what you do when
- Grab a brain dump so you can know what needs to be done
- Use a productivity sheet- to schedule down to the hour.
Without these three, I would know if I was coming or going.
Don’t believe me? Try it to print them out and use if for at least 1-week, man even one day and let me know how much you got done.
6. Get Your Mind Right
Your mindset of “I’m going to make things happen and getting things done,” goes hand in hand.
If you say, “Oh, I’ll get to it tomorrow or when I have time.” Then what going to happen? Exactly nothing.
But if you speak positivity and say, “Today is the day. I will conquer all. I will get things done. I will make a change”. Then you will feel motivated to get things done.

7. Become Resourceful
If I may ask, what is it that holds you back from living the life you envision?
And what things can you set in place today that will help you tomorrow? No one wants to be precisely in the same place they were last year. You must have personal growth!
I was listening to Tony Robbins on YouTube, and there were some things he said that made me think.
What are your limited resources? TIME, MONEY, EDUCATION, or LACK OF SUPPORT (knowing the right people, getting advice from others who were there, accountability partner).
Let’s not forget about Mental Health, which has a significant impact on your life.
Based on that answer: how can you become more resourceful? How can you use what you got to get what you want?
There is always someone who is missing something and still make moves.
Tony said he grew up poor and with limited resources, but he was resourceful.
Resourceful: having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties.
Dannnnggg Tony that deep. Please watch the video because I paraphrased it.
You know me..being your cheerleader and all. I want you to stride high and reach for your ideal life.
Tell me what things are impossible, and I will help you make the impossible—possible.
Final thoughts
If you really want something, get it.
When you feel you need change, try to identify the factors getting in your way and find ways to
I understand how life can throw curve balls that causes you to lose yourself or focus on your end goals. But, remember this is your life.
Although you may experience negativity in your past, the stress in your current life, there is no time like the present to reclaim and reinvent yourself.
Change is hard, but change is necessary for growth.
