Know What Your Goals are in Life
What are the goals you set to make you happy?
There were goals I set for myself that didn’t transition me to the happy place I wanted to be.
There was a time when everything in my life was at its low.
As a child, I lived in a low-income family from Camden, New Jersey where the streets where more challenging than school.
If you want to read how much of a struggle, it was read HOW TO REMOVE NEGATIVITY TO CREATE A LOVING & HAPPY LIFE
I knew then as well as now that I will create a different life from what I was exposed too. That my children will not have to worry about eating, gangs or feeling like a failure.
Years with proper goal setting strategies I was able to accomplish a lot. A Masters in Public Health, married my best friend, have a home and an investment property, a car that is paid off, three healthy kids, a good-paying career.
I tell you this not brag but to show you with proper goal setting strategies and believe everything is possible.
But there were times along the journey things felt out of place. I was excelling in some areas and lacking entirely in others.
Now I want to help you achieve your greatness and life goals.
1st step: Evaluate your Life
The Life Wheel is a great tool I often use to check-in to see if my life is balanced.
Download this worksheet to fill out goal setting with the wheel of life.
It’s a good start if you don’t know what areas of your life need improvement. Or if you feel off balanced but don’t understand why.
Use this tool to uncover areas in your life that need improvement.
Besides, balance is something people always look to improve, no matter how accomplished they are in life.
I believe there is always room for improvement.
Your goals and focus will be different depending on the area that needs improvement.
For instance, Are you happy with your family dynamic-married, with children? But you need to focus on better health and energy?
Is your career a place of achievement but your fulfillment in life at a low? How about the finance department?
The balance wheel helps you reflect on different parts of your life and gives a visual representation of the areas that need work.

Step 2 Achieve Life Balance
Balance is an “even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.”
The end goal is to…
- Feel steady and complete.
- Set well-rounded goals
- Identify different areas of your life that need more attention.
- Fill in gaps so you can attain goals you envision.
Therefore, if you have a wonderful family life, then you would rate that better 8 – 10.
For instance, you can have a great career that pays well, rated 9.
But you are not happy that you don’t have a family to share it with, so you rate it 1.
You will continue to score each area.
Step 3 Create your Future
Now, the wheel of life alone can’t create your ideal future. But it is a tool that can help you take the necessary steps to do so.
After you evaluate where you are on the wheel, you will need to set goals in each area that need improvement.

6. CAREER GOALS
Do you need to set career goals, or are you happy with your current position?
It’s weird because last year if you asked me what I rate my career on the wheel, it would have been a 9.
However, this year is much different. Thanks to the new baby and the blog, I changed my outlook and wanted more from my career.
Currently, I would rate it as a 7. It’s not horrible but not ideal.
The blogging world has definitely offered me lots of growth and another financial outlet that I never thought was possible.
7. FAMILY & FRIENDS GOAL
Do you have a social life? Do you spend time with your family and friends?

Ok, a secret that I never really share….. I am the go-to person in my family and friends for striving for complete happiness in this area. It’s not because they believe my love life is perfect, so I have all the answers, but because I can understand what people normally can not.
For instance, if you are married and want more from your married, I offer suggestions based on both wife and spouse’s needs.
I continue to tell others that marriage is not a competition.
And you should not be sharing your spouse’s downfall in order to get more people on your side. In fact, you should be playing on the same team and looking at strategic ways to create a united team.
Ok, I can go on forever…
