Here are 7 Ways to Cleanse Your Life for Mental Clarity

#1 Declutter Your Mind
Do you suffer from decision fatigue? You know the feeling when you’re overly stressed by the things you have to decide to do throughout the day, every day.
Or you have so many things to do that you don’t know where to start.
It’s like you have so much to do and so many thoughts in your head that you end up doing nothing.
Annnd not being productive at all.
Girl, get those thoughts out of your head and onto paper.
The best way to unclog your brain is to do a complete brain dump.
My favorite process is brain dumping by category to make sure you get everything out of your mind so you can feel at ease.

#2 Spring Clean Your Schedule

You know you don’t need a schedule that is so jam-packed that you can’t find moments to relax.
Instead, make sure you put DOWNTIME on your schedule!
Remove the things you don’t want to do because you didn’t “say no” to someone and set proper boundaries.
Use those moments to reset and protect your energy.
You can easily create mental clutter if your spending too much time and energy on things draining you instead of lifting your spirits.
If you find yourself squeezing things on your schedule, then it is a red flag that you need to declutter your calendar and detox your to-do list.
On the other hand, if you find your schedule blank because you’re a procrastinator or constantly missing deadlines, you, my friend, need to sit down with your planner (my favorite planner) and get organized.
- Is this task aligned with my goals? (Hint: watching Netflix every night might not help your goal of building a side business)
- Did I say yes because I want to or out of guilt? (Hint: if you feel )
- Do I enjoy this, or am I doing it just out of habit or social pressure? (Hint: just because you have met your pals for beers in the pub every Friday since college times doesn’t mean you actually still enjoy it)
# 3 Create your Life Plan.

Do you know most people just go with the flow and become frustrated when they are not where they believe they should be?
Emphasis on “should be “
Because you may be on the right path but don’t notice it, especially if you’re judging your placement of life on someone else’s map.

Click To TweetThat’s when relying on your intuition becomes extremely important. You can feel when you’re on track vs. feeling a nudge to find your passion or do something.
By creating a life plan, you will simply manifest things by putting your desires out to the universe.
Do you have an idea of what you want out of life 1, 5, 10, 25 years?
Do you know which steps in your life that is keeping you stuck?
- Create a vision by using a digital vision board to help you.
- Perform a self-assessment by identifying where you are and where you want to be
- Prioritize the things in your life– relationships, debt-free, losing weight, work, etc.
- Identify your personal core values
- Establish realistic and scary goals.
- Outline an action plan by getting a life coach or surround yourself with like-minded people.
Creating a Life Plan can help you spring clean your life by removing things that don’t serve the purpose of your goals.
#4 Redefine your Core Values.
Spring-clean your life using the core values list to make sure the things you identified with a year ago still align with your vision and goals for today.
Because as we grow in life and things change, the priorities in our life also change.
Before kids, my goals were very different: fun, partying, and being wild. But Man, those college years have worn me out.
Having children made me more aware of my triggers and the things that no longer served me.
Getting married highlighted the importance of trust, communication, and respect, which helped us identify our love language.
When looking for mental clarity, spring cleaning your core values are a must.
#5 Reflect on The Year

Reflecting on my year is something even I need to do more often.
Simply, sitting down with yourself, hopefully by yourself (or with kids ugg), and reflect on what worked and what didn’t in the past years. (well, maybe skip 2020; that was a strange year, lol)
- Reflect on the goals you have accomplished and those that fell short.
- Reflect on your career goals, business goal, family goals, spiritual goals and, etc.
- Make it a priority to understand yourself on a personal level and take note of the places in your life you have grown.
… let go of bad habits that no longer serve you
… area in your life you have neglected that needs a little attention
Always giving yourself grace because you can’t be perfect in all areas of life and should not strive for perfection. Instead, documenting your accomplishments and things you have done that make you proud.

#6 Mindset Detox

Your mindset is everything. It affects how you handle situations.
There is a huge difference between believing you can change your outcome: steer your life”. Versus the feeling life is predetermined and everything just “happens to you.”
Make sure to check in with yourself and see how you could improve how you react to situations.

#7 Spring Clean your Routines

Springtime is the best time to rethink your day-to-day activities and try a new way of doing things.
Or simply see what’s not working for you anymore and add more of what you love to your day.
I mean, routines are great, but they get pretty boring if you’re constantly doing the same thing every day, especially during the quarantine.
Try shaking things up a bit by doing something different.
Instead of waking up to the kids yelling in the am, try a hot relaxing bath while watching a good Netflix show, then rub yourself down in some relaxing essentials, followed by a hot cup of coffee and a funny show. ( ok, this was my morning last week, and I needed it)
Or instead, of doing an indoor workout first thing in the morning, try going for an outdoor walk.
Basically, find little ways to add some spice to your day.
